📘 Park Overview

Here on Federal Hall, George Washington took the oath of office as our first President, and this site was home to the first Congress, Supreme Court, and Executive Branch offices. The current structure, a Customs House, later served as part of the US Sub-Treasury. Now, the building serves as a museum and memorial to our first President and the beginnings of the United States of America.

🚗 Directions

The main entrance of Federal Hall is located at 15 Pine Street, near the corner of Nassau and Pine Street in Manhattan's Financial District. The rear entrance, which is wheelchair accessible, is located at 15 Pine Street, near the intersection of Pine Street and Nassau Street. It is highly recommended that all visitors use mass transit when traveling to Federal Hall.

The George Washington Inaugural Bible is currently offsite.
Inclement Weather Closure Park Closure
On January 25, 2026, Federal Hall National Memorial will be closed due to inclement weather. The site will reopen on Wednesday, January 28th for normal operations.
Temporary Pause on Research and Donation Requests Information
Please be advised that due to staffing changes and the ongoing hiring freeze, there is a pause on research requests and donation considerations at all parks in the Manhattan Sites Unit until further notice. Please check this website and social media for updates.
Sidewalk closure Information
Beginning on Monday June 9th the Pedestrian walkway and ramp on the Southeast corner of Pine Street and Nassau will be closed because of utility work. There will be a temporary crosswalk. The entrance to Federal Hall will still be at 15 Pine Street.
