Albert Gallatin is best remembered for his thirteen year tenure as Secretary of the Treasury during the Jefferson and Madison administrations. In that time he reduced the national debt, purchased the Louisiana Territory and funded the Lewis & Clark exploration. Gallatin's accomplishments and contributions are highlighted at Friendship Hill, his restored country estate.

Join us at Friendship Hill National Historic Site and learn more about Albert Gallatin's role in the 1791-1794 Whiskey Conflict. Citizens and farmers of western Pennsylvania rebelled against the excise tax causing the first national conflict in the new American nation.
We will have vendors and artisans through and around the house. We will also offer food trucks and speakers during the day, and music.
Historic weapons demonstrations of flint lock muskets and 18th century artillery will occur BOTH days at 12 and 2 PM.
