Seattle flourished during and after the Klondike Gold Rush. Merchants supplied people from around the world passing through this port city on their way to a remarkable adventure in the Yukon Territory of Canada. Today, the park is your gateway to learn about the Klondike Gold Rush, explore the area's public lands, and engage with the local community.

Warm dry summers from mid-July through mid-Sept, all the rest of the year, mainly rainy and cool.

The park and visitor center are located on the northwest corner of 2nd Ave South and South Jackson Street in the former Cadillac Hotel. The Pioneer Square neighborhood is serviced by several public transportation options. Visit your directions page for more information about parking.

Who were the first women to fly for the U.S. military—and what did they face along the way?Ā Winning Her WingsĀ tells the story of Birdie, a Jewish American pilot who joins the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASPs) during World War II. Alongside Ah Ying Lee, one of only two Chinese American WASPs, she navigates sexism, racism, and antisemitism to serve her country from the air.

This all-ages multimedia performance brings life to history through dynamic solo theatre and archival film, honoring the courageous women who served—and those whose stories often went untold.
