📘 Park Overview
On July 21, 1861, two armies clashed for the first time on the fields overlooking Bull Run. Heavy fighting swept away any notion of a quick war. In August 1862, Union and Confederate armies converged for a second time on the plains of Manassas. The Confederates won a solid victory bringing them to the height of their power.

Memorial Day at Manassas National Battlefield Park
SAVE THE DATE for Memorial Day at Manassas. Throughout the day, park staff, volunteers, and park partners will be presenting a series of programs to remember and commemorate those who gave their lives in service to their country. Programs and events during the day will include special talks/tours, living history demonstrations, moments of and spaces for reflection, and children's crafts.

165th Anniversary of First Manassas
Join park staff to commemorate the 165th Anniversary of the first major land battle of the Civil War fought on July 21st, 1861. Among the days' activities will be living history, special tours, programs, and displays. There will also be children's activiites at our Junior Ranger Junction table!
