📘 Park Overview

Piscataway Park is home to bald eagles, beavers, deer, foxes, ospreys, and many other species. To complement the surroundings, the park has, in addition to a public fishing pier and two boardwalks over fresh water tidal wetlands, a variety of nature trails, meadows, and woodland areas. The Park is also home to National Colonial Farm.

🌤 Weather Information

Summers are generally hot and humid, with daytime highs frequently above 90 degrees Fahrenheit and scattered afternoon thunderstorms. Please carry water while participating in physical activity and be prepared to take shelter from lightning. Winters are generally cold, with nighttime lows frequently near freezing and occasional snowfall. Weather during spring and fall is generally moderate, but can change quickly.

🚗 Directions

The National Colonial Farm: From the Capital Beltway (I495/95) from southbound take Exit 3, to MD210 South/Indian Head Highway. Travel approximately 9 miles, at the traffic light by B&J Carryout turn right on Livingston Road (please note that Livingston Road crosses MD210 several times) Drive one block and turn right on Biddle Road. At the stop sign, turn left on Bryan Point Road and follow about 3.5 miles. National Colonial Farm will be on the right.

Waterfowl Hunting Near Park Lands
It is currently waterfowl season in the state of Maryland. Park lands are not to be used for hunting or to access hunting sites. If hunting activities are observed in the park please call U.S. Park Police at 202-610-7500. For an emergency please call 911.

Accokeek Creek Boardwalk
The gate will remain closed until the road has been cleared for safe travel.
Flooding at Farmington Landing
The parking area and boat ramp at Farmington Landing off Wharf Road has had some flooding. The area is closed until the river recedes.
Park closed due to inclement weather Warning
Due to the inclement weather in the Washington, DC area, Fort Washington Park is closed today (2/15/2016). We will reopen tomorrow at 9:00 am, weather permitting.
Park Closed on New Years Day
Fort Washington Park will be closed Thursday, December 31, 2014 for New Year's Day. The park will reopen at 8:00 am Friday, January 1, 2015.
National Colonial Farm Operating on Two Hour Delay: February 3 Park Closure
Due to winter weather impacts, National Colonial Farm will operate on a two-hour delay on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, for visitor safety and to allow crews to address hazardous conditions.
Park Closed for Thanksgiving
Piscataway Park will be closed Thursday, November 26, 2014 for Thanksgiving Day. The park will reopen at 8:00 am Friday, November 27.
Park Opening on 2 Hour Delay Park Closure
The farm at Accokeek in Piscataway Park will be opening 2 hours late with some buildings possibly being closed.
Accokeek Creek Boardwalk Closed Due to Winter Weather Impacts Park Closure
Accokeek Creek Boardwalk will remain closed until further notice to ensure visitor safety and allow crews to address hazardous conditions, including ice and snow. We will reopen the area as soon as conditions are safe. Visitors should use caution when accessing open areas, such as trails and piers. For the latest updates, please continue to check our website.
