As president, Theodore Roosevelt created protections for ordinary citizens, began regulation of big business, and made the US a major force in international affairs. Yet one of the most important presidencies in America's history nearly didn't happen. See the place where a brief, emotional, and improvised ceremony in Buffalo, NY brought TR into office, and forever altered the nation.

Artifacts Packed During Nearby Demolition
The TR Inaugural Site is currently undergoing restoration. The majority of artifacts in the historic rooms have been packed away at least until nearby demolition is complete. The TR Inaugural Site remains open throughout the process.

Due to anticipated high volume traffic for Episcopal Community Discover Sunday, the Site will not be offering guided tours between 2:30 and 3:30 on Sunday September 25.
Late opening Sunday May 29, 2016 Information
Due to road closures caused by the Buffalo Marathon, the TR Site will not open until 1:00 pm on Sunday, May 29, 2016.
