Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site is located in the town of Hyde Park, NY, approximately 5 miles north of Poughkeepsie along Route 9G, midway between New York City and Albany, about a 1.5 hour drive from either direction. Located on the east bank of the Hudson River, the park is easily reached by either the Taconic State Parkway or Route 9, and the New York State Thruway west of the Hudson River.
Thousands of visitors flock to the Hudson Valley in the Fall to see the leaves change colors.

Get a jump on spring – become a garden volunteer!
Join us for a garden volunteer information meeting on Tuesday, March 17th at 10 a.m. in the Henry A. Wallace Visitor Center at the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site. National Park Service staff and garden partners will describe the many ways to participate, so you can jump into spring with your questions answered.
If you are unable to attend, an additional meeting will take place on April 22nd at 10 a.m. in the Wallace Visitor Center.

Throughout the summer, enjoy FREE open-air concerts every Wednesday at either a national or state historic site in Dutchess County, NY. Bring your own lawn chairs or blankets to relax on the lawn of a historic mansion and hear live music.
The fourth concert of the Music in the Parks series in 2026 will be held at the Mills Mansion within the Staatsburgh State Historic Site at 7 PM EDT on June 24. The address for the mansion is 75 Mills Mansion Drive Rd 1, Staatsburg, NY, United States, 12580.
The performing group is The Crew.
If there is rainy weather, the alternate location for the concert will be the Taconic Regional OFC-NY Parks located at 9 Old Post Road, Staatsburg, NY.
