The Burlingham House Visitor Center building is closed this season for construction and installation of new exhibits. The Temporary Outdoor Visitor Center and restrooms will be available Wednesdays – Sundays, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. from May through October. Please note there are no restrooms available on Mondays and Tuesday so please plan accordingly. Starting July 1, visitors can pick up a set of free-to-use art supplies and sign up for tours during regular scheduled hours. First come, first served.

The Burlingham House Visitor Center bears the name of Julian Alden Weir's youngest daughter, Cora Weir Burlingham, who lived in this house from 1931 to 1986. Today the building serves as the park's visitor center where you can talk with Park Rangers, sign up for tours, obtain Junior Ranger program materials, explore museum exhibits, watch the park film, pick up free-to-use art supplies, and visit the Eastern National Park Store. Public restrooms are available seasonally in the nearby Burlingham Barn.

What to expect by season
Weir Farm’s grounds are open all year and each season offers a unique experience. For a comfortable visit please note the following information. Winter: Temperatures average from 20 F to 40 F. Storms and colder weather are possible. Spring: Temperatures average from 30 F to 70 F. Rain is common. Summer: Temperatures average from 60 F to 85 F. High humidity is common in July and August. Fall: Temperatures average from 35 F to 75 F. Foliage season runs from mid-September to mid-to-late October.

Calling all artists! The Weir Farm Artist Collective is a collaboration of independent artists following the tradition of creativity within the Weir Farm landscape. On the first Thursday of the month, May through October, the Collective will be gathering in the Burlingham Barn with a focused discussion topic. The third Thursday of the month will be a ‘paint out’-style gathering, where artists can come to the park and make art together. Parking for the ‘paint out’ days will be in the overflow parking lot near the Weir Barn. -

The exhibition, Weir Inspired: Works by the Weir Farm Artist Collective, will be on view during library hours October 5 through November 19, with an opening reception from 6:00-7:30pm on Friday October 9. Stone Wall Tours are offered once a month in-season on the second Saturday. Join a park ranger on a ramble through the fields of Weir Farm National Historical Park to examine the three different types of stone walls on the property and learn about their rich history. The stone walls not only provide an opportunity to explore New England's geologic and cultural past, but they have also served as a source of inspiration to the artists that have lived and visited here for over 140 years. The tour will meet at the Park Sign out front of the Visitor Center - no registration required! -

If you are coming to Weir Farm National Historical Park as part of a group that will require three or more vehicles, please call in advance to arrange a group visit. Follow Route 7 the Branchville section of Ridgefield.
Full directions
Turn onto Route 102 West at a traffic light. Take 2nd left onto Old Branchville Road. Turn left at first stop sign onto Nod Hill Road. Follow Nod Hill Road one mile; continue straight after stop sign at Pelham Lane to 735 Nod Hill Road
