The White House is owned by the American people and stewarded by the National Park Service. It is more than the President's residence; it is a site for protests and national discourse about what it means to be American. As one of the most iconic sites in the country, the White House and President's Park seeks to tell the stories of all people who have lived, worked, and visited.

🌤 Weather Information

The Washington, DC, area has a four-season Mid-Atlantic climate. Summertime is warm and humid, while winter can be cold and snowy. Precipitation averages 2-4ā€ monthly, year-round. The warmest months are June, July, and August, with average highs in the 80s (~31) combined with high humidity. Temperatures often climb into the 90s (~34). The coldest months are December, January, and February, with average temperatures in the 30s (~3), though lows may dip into the single digits on occasion.

The White House is located in downtown Washington, DC, directly north of the Washington Monument. The park boundaries are between 17th and 15th Streets NW on the east and west and between Constitution Ave NW and H St NW on the north and south. The nearest Metro stations are Farragut North/South, McPherson Square, and Federal Triangle. The park visitor center is located at 15th St. & Pennsylvania Ave.

The White House Easter Egg Roll

The White House Easter Egg Roll is a popular annual event hosted by the White House. The South Lawn of the White House is filled with exciting activities for the whole family, including storytime, games, live entertainment, and the traditional Easter Egg Roll.

The 2026 White House Easter Egg Roll will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026.Ā Tickets are required for event entry. Tickets to the Easter Egg Roll are awarded using a lottery system. Please visit Recreation.gov toĀ enter the ticket lotteryĀ for the event. The lottery opens February 26, 2026 (12:00 PM ET) and closes March 4, 2026 (12:00 PM ET). Lottery results will be announced March 10, 2026.

White House Spring Garden Tours

This spring, the White House will open its historic gardens and grounds to visitors during the 2026 Spring Garden Tours. The grounds will be open Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the beauty of the South Lawn of the White House as well as the Rose Garden and the White House Kitchen Garden. Each spring, the gardens of President’s Park come into full bloom, offering vibrant color and a reflection of the natural beauty of the United States.

This event is free and open to the public. A ticket is required for all attendees, including small children.

The National Park Service will distribute free, timed tickets at a tent outside the White House Visitor Center each day of the tours beginning at 8:30 AM. The White House Visitor Center is located at 1450 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC, 20004, near the intersection of 15th Street and E Street Northwest.

Tickets will be distributed—one ticket per person—on a first-come, first-served basis.
