Named for the father who died shortly before his birth, William Jefferson Blythe III later became the 42nd President of the United States. In Hope, the experiences shared with his mother and grandparents in rural Arkansas developed the broad views on race relations, social justice, and public service that defined his presidency and life after the White House. For Bill Clinton, "Hope was home."
Average temperatures in Hope can range from 30ºF to 60ºF in winter, 40ºF to 80ºF in the spring, 65ºF to 95ºF in summer, and 50ºF to 75ºF in the fall. Humidity in late spring, summer and early fall can make temperatures feel hotter and lead to dehydration or heatstroke. We recommend that visitors in these seasons dress comfortably and drink plenty of water to beat the heat. Inclement weather (tornadoes, thunderstorms) are possible at times, so check local weather conditions before your visit to Arkansas.
