Through stone architecture and bronze sculptures, the World War II Memorial recognizes the ways Americans served, honors those who fell, and recognizes the victory they achieved to restore freedom and end tyranny around the globe.

Temporary Closures While World War II Memorial Updates Lighting, Fountains Information
The World War II Memorial is undergoing a modernization of its fountains and lighting to address aging infrastructure, improve reliability, and enhance the appearance of the memorial. Visitors may find temporary closures of parts of the memorial during their visit. For your safety and the safety of the contractors, please respect any area closures you encounter. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Wintery Conditions Information
Please use caution when visiting sites on the National Mall this morning as NPS crews continue to clear the memorials, roads, sidewalks & walkways of snow.
World War II Memorial closed on July 4 Park Closure
The World War II Memorial will close at 4 p.m. on Friday, July 4 for the Independence Day fireworks display. It is expected to reopen by noon on Saturday, July 5. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Ongoing Construction at World War II Memorial
Due to work on the water pumping system for the Memorial, its water features are out of operation. Work is expected to be completed in June of 2013.
Closing of World War II Memorial for Independence Day Celebration Information
The World War II Memorial will close for visitation at 4:00 pm on July 4th. It will reopen in the morning on July 5th when staff have assured the site is cleared of debris from the fireworks display.
Delayed opening of National Mall sites and facilities
Due to the delayed opening of the federal government, all National Mall and Memorial Parks sites will open at noon on Wednesday, January 27.
